Sage Spa FAQ Where are you located? We are located at 405 Fifth Avenue 2nd Floor (between 7th and 8th St.) in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Look for our green awning and our small polished metal sign by the door. Can I stop by and see Sage in person before I schedule an appointment or purchase a gift certificate? Of course, but by appointment only. We do not interrupt client sessions to answer the door for drop-in clients. Please give us a call first, and we will schedule a time for you to stop by and check out our facility. We think you'll love it here. When should I arrive for my appointment? We ask that you arrive ten minutes before your scheduled appointment so that you will have time to meet with your therapist to ask any questions, or discuss any particular needs. What should I do when I arrive at Sage? The outside door to Sage is unlocked, so step into the vestibule, and. ring either of the two vestibule buzzers marked SAGE. We will buzz you up to the second floor. What if I am running a bit late? Try to be on time for your appointment or a few minutes early. If you are running a few minutes late, please give us a call. We will try to fit you in, but please realize that often, time missed, is time lost. Please try to understand, that we can not inconvenience every client after you because you are running late. NOTE: If you are running extremely late, you will likely lose your entire appointment, and will be charged full fee in accordance with our cancellation policy. Please be on time. What do I do if I am feeling ill? If you are sick, it may be better for you not to receive a massage. In some cases of flu and/or fever, massage can actually make you feel worse. Massage increases blood circulation so if you have some sort of systemic "bug" then massage will circulate it throughout your body. And, of course, if you are contagious or infectious, it’s best for everyone if you wait until you are completely well. Call us before you decide to stop and we can discuss it. Can I give my appointment to someone else? All appointments are transferable*, but we ask that you call us beforehand, so we can make sure that your scheduled therapist is qualified to meet that person's specific needs. We want your friend's experience at SAGE to be a great one. *You may not transfer your appointment to a prenatal client with less than 24 hours notice (unless the initial massage was a prenatal massage). We reserve the right to reschedule the appointment in this particular case, so that a qualified certified prenatal trained therapist is matched with your pregnant friend Can I add extra time on to my massage after my session begins? Yes, if there are no booking conflicts. Talk to your therapist before your session begins, so they won't have to interrupt your session. How should I handle gratuities? Gratuities are greatly appreciated by our staff (if you are using a gift certificate, they are not necessarily included in the massage.) Of course, if you are unhappy for any reason, do not feel obliged to tip (though we ask that you let us know so we can address the problem and make amends), but if you loved your session, please be considerate of your therapist and show your appreciation. Tip envelopes are available at the front desk. Tips for our therapist are cash only. What types of skin care lines does SAGE carry? We carry Weleda Premiere Facial products formulated from the purest, natural, organic and biodynamic ingredients. Can you e-mail me a gift certificate? Yes, we can. Your certificate will arrive in less than one hour, often within a few minutes. Do make sure that e-mail from Sage is not filtered into a JUNK folder on your computer. Can you mail the gift certificate to me or to my friend? yes, of course. Can I pick up my gift certificate in person? We can leave the gift certificate on the shelf just inside our vestibule, for your to pick up at your convenience. The outside door will be unlocked. Just step inside; you'll see the shelf on your left and your gift. What is your policy on Lost Gift Certificates? We have your certificate on record. If you lose it, just give us a call and we will be happy to issue a new certificate.. How long do I have to use my Gift Certificates? Gift Certificates are good for one year from date of issue. I have some Sage credit left on my gift certificate; can I apply that towards my tip to my therapist(s)? No. The credit left on your gift certificate is not of cash value. That credit can only be applied to another service or product at Sage Spa. I see a small black and white cat just outside the front door to Sage on 5th Avenue. Is he lost? Does he belong to someone at Sage?
